COLBERT!

Well, now it's January and I'm still writing about October. C'est la vie. Here are some highlights from this past fall!

Marilyn came to New York for a conference and we got to spend lots of time together!

Liz came down from Yale and we got to see Colbert! It was only a couple days after the election so it was very cathartic to get to go and be part of a liberal audience since I had been watching Colbert's stuff all through the election

Possibly even better than going to see Colbert though was watching my parents watch Colbert afterwards. I told them about the show and the jokes were just so funny that I was like, here look it up and watch it. So they did while I was still skyping with them but I couldn't hear their audio which made it even funnier for me to watch their faces as they reacted to the jokes.

One of the major highlights of this fall was when the one and only Krusty Tung came to visit New York! It was SO much fun to catch up with her and talk about everything that's scary and important in our lives. We also celebrated her birthday. Here are some pictures.

Goings of Gotham

So, moving to New York, I was pretty determined to take in as much of the city as I possibly could. Here are some of the sights I saw in late Summer/Early Fall.

Apartment complex near the first kid I started tutoring privately in East Village.
I was SO nervous the first time I to his apartment. Now I spend up to 5 hours a week there! 

On one of my first days off, I went to the Met.

Elder Holland came to New York for this LDS Public Affairs conference! I volunteered at the conference so I got to hear him speak! When I showed up early to start my shift he was on the other side of the lobby doing a tv interview! That was pretty cool! I got to meet him on my mission and seeing him again just kind of brought back those same feelings that he was a man of God.
